When one door closes another one opens. With no place for the Veteran Tribute Bike in Ellwood City, PA. I opted for Cascade Park in New Castle PA. and the Back to the 50's Old Car Show . Being a non-profit Organization raising money for our homeless Vets I was hoping the organizers would donate a spot to set up. No such luck. I did not want any of the money raised for our homeless Vets going to line the pockets of the events organizers and the $300 they were asking was out of the question.

With the word " can't" not in my vocabulary I turned to my fellow Veterans. I am a member of the Veterans Of Foreign Wars ( V.F.W.). I called the V.F.W. in New Castle which just happens to be across the road from the main parking lot at Cascade Park. If I can not depend on the V.F.W. who else could I depend on. Vets always help Vets and Commander Mike Orelli of V.F.W. Post 315 wasted no time in opening up a place in front of the Post for me.

Like most of my stops in my Ride Across America Fundraising Tour it was basically Vets supporting Vets. The amount of Americans who take their Freedoms for granted is alarming.

From sea to shining sea I had a chance to meet my fellow Americans from Florida to California to Washington D.C. and I came to an alarming conclusions.

1. Most Americans take their freedoms for granted.

2. Most Americans do not know the  constitution which guarantees their rights which they are already loosing.

3. This generation never heard about the Vietnam War let alone the Korean War.

4. Most Americans are over weight and in poor physical condition. This tells me that America is in big trouble. America needs to wake up before its to late. We need an active physical education program in our schools. We need to teach our children the constitution ( you don't know what you lost if you never knew you had it ) We need to teach our history so that they know of the great sacrifices made my thousands of our military in order for them to enjoy the freedoms they take for granted .

Freedom Isn't Free
The Price Of Freedom Is Written On The Wall.
All Gave Some - Some Gave All.
Time Was Served - Time To Honor.
The Nation Which Forgets It's Defenders Will Itself Be Forgotten.

Wake up America. The 4th. of July is not just a holiday to take off work and party. It is the day we won our independence. Open your eyes America. Its not too late. If you love and enjoy your freedoms make a donation to an organization which help the defenders of  your freedoms.

GOD BLESS YOU.  GOD BLESS AMERICA.
